What is CTET?
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national examination that is administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) once a year to determine the eligibility requirements of candidates and they could be appointed as teachers of class 1-8.
Candidates have the option to choose either Exam 1 or Paper 2 as per their requirements. Candidates who are keen to be an instructor in the classes 1-5, may take the exam Paper 1. Those who are looking to teach students in the class 6-8 will need to sit for Exam 2. Paper 2 exam.

CBSE CTET Eligibility 2021 Criteria
CTET Eligibility Criteria are defined by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). There are different CBSE CTET Exam Eligibility criteria to be met for paper 1 as well as 2. To apply for the CTET 2021 examination the applicant must be the citizen of India. Here are the different levels of CTET Eligibility:
CBSE CTET Age Limit
In order to sit for the test there is no maximum age limit for candidates of any age group. But, candidates must be at least 17 to be eligible for CTET 2021 examination.
CBSE CTET Education Criteria
The basic requirement for CTET Exam must be having completed Senior Secondary or Graduation with a minimum 50% aggregate marks and have a teacher training program. Here are the detailed education requirements:
CTET eligibility 2021 paper 1:To apply for CTET Paper 1 exam, the candidate must have passed senior secondary school or equivalent with at minimum 50% marks as and must also be in or be in the final second year of a 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education or the 4-year Master of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
CTET eligibility 2021 Paper 2. To take the CTET Paper 2 exam, candidates must have a graduation degree in the relevant discipline , with at 50% marks or more and must have successfully completed or taken part in the final year of the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or the 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Notification: A degree or diploma in teacher education must be recognized by NCTE.
